Learn Christian Mindfulness from Martin and others in this group
These sessions are ideal for those new to Christian Mindfulness as a practice, those who wish to RELAUNCH their practice and for experienced practitioners.
Simply curious? Contact Martin for a quick intro of what to expect.
Each session opens and concludes with a period of meditation. There is a talk on how to practice mindfulness in the Christian tradition and the opportunity for sharing and reflection.
Retreat at Douai Abbey, Berkshire
Friday 10 - Sunday 12 October , 2025
Friday evening - Sunday afternoon
Introduction to Christian Mindfulness
Learn Christian Mindfulness including meditation, mindfulness tools and bible examples of mindfulness in the Christian tradition.
The Forum is a practical event where you will learn mindfulness tools through meditation. Mindfulness tools enable you to stay present throughout the day.
We can be aware that our many thoughts and emotions aren’t necessarily true and we can come back to the presence of God.
Meditation develops these tools. It’s also a form of contemplative prayer.
The retreat will be taught by Martin Zetter and Br Christopher Greener, one of the monk’s of Douai Abbey.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions throughout. This event is suitable for those wishing to learn mindfulness or wishing to ‘re-launch’ their existing practice.
You are also welcome to attend as many of the Divine Offices, sung by the monks in the Abbey Church, as you wish. Some people like them all and others go to none!
As the accommodation may be limited to 12 participants staying in the Abbey guesthouse, we recommend early booking, unless you live nearby and are coming as a day-participant.
